Profile of Qingdao
Located in the Shandong Province, Qingdao is a prominent trading port city in China. By the end of the 19th century, it was a small fishing village. After the Qing Dynasty government constructed military facilities there at the end of the 19th century, the city started developing. Later it prospered as a German model colony. Even today, German influence can be seen in its western style cityscape and Tsingtao beer. It is also known for being an international coastal resort because of its mild climate.
