Important Points on National Pension System
Applied for Exemption? Don’t Pay!
- Even if you apply for National Pension Contribution Postponement/Exemption (Special Payment System for Student (学生特例), or general rule), the payment slips will be anyway sent to your home by mail. Those who have applied for the Contribution Exemption/Payment Postponement are requested not to make any payments with such payment slips.
- Please note that after having applied for a postponement/exemption, if you mistakenly paid a National Pension contribution with a payment slip you received, the contribution amount paid may not be refunded.
International Students
- As for the Special Payment System for Students (学生特例), during the period when your status of student continues, you are required to submit an application once every year in spring. Please note that if you fail to do so, the Special Payment System for Students will not be applied to you for the year.
